How about using an item from your culture to inspire your string art? Adrian Esparza does exactly this. In this piece of art, he uses a blanket commonly recognised as part of his Mexican culture and unravels this blanket, and uses the wool to create patterns!
I love the colours the wool leaves, and how he uses this colour to emphasise his patterns - very clever!
